Frosty Aesthetics


Sub-zero weather conditions compete with warm store-front windows to produce beautiful, frosty aesthetics in downtown Waukesha, Wis., on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008. While the town was celebrating its annual JanBoree with ice sculpting and other various activities, nature created its own art.

Topsy-Turvey Night


A single-vehicle accident just after 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, slowed traffic on the north-bound lane of US Highway 151, near Mineral Point, Wis. The solitary victim was thrown from the vehicle before it came to its rest, top-side down after crossing the median from its original south-bound position.

Pit Stop


Officials survey the site of a weather-related accident involving a semi-tractor trailer on Highway 151 just outside of Madison, Wis. The accident was one of many due to heavy snow and icy road conditions on Friday Dec 28, 2007.

While out for a walk this past fall, I noticed these. I just love the shapes and the contrast. I'm so easily amused sometimes. :-)

Sometimes simplicity says so much. I was shadowing on a hockey game assignment, and couldn't stop looking at the windows in the arena.
